Winter is here and for every skin type, here are some tips and tricks to keep your skin healthy and hydrated this season!

Step 1: Switch to a creamier cleanser. If you feel tight or crunchy after a cleanse it’s time for a gentler cleanser!! For dry skin you should already be doing this, but even for my oily/combo skins adding in a gel-cream cleanser instead of your typical foam cleanser can help not to over strip the skin.

Step 2: Avoid AHA/BHA/Witch Hazel toners, keyword gentle gentle gentle! Facial mists spritzed directly on the skin or gentle cotton pad, but no need to over exfoliating right now.

Step 3: Hydrating serums on slightly damp skin . Hyaluronic acid and glycerin are my two favorite hydrating ingredients!

*Pro Tip* If you are ever nervous about a product being too heavy for your skin, apply to your palms and massage into your skin. The skin on your palms is a lot thicker and will absorb more of the product so your face won’t get as much! Ultimate winter trick for my oily friends.

*Pro Tip* Don’t forget to apply your serums on slightly dampened skin.

Step 4: Do not over exfoliate! When we start to build up dead flakey skin we have a tendency to want to scrub it off and remove it. This season more than any other we want to be repairing the skin from the inside out. Enzymes are great way to exfoliate in cooler months.

Step 5: Layer and Pat - Serums, Moisturizers, Oils (if you partake). No vigorous rubbing, just a blend and pat.
